Phil Kieran Presents: Leatherette

There’s not many DJs play here that we make sure are booked for another night before they leave the building, but Phil Kieran is something special. His debut gig here back in February was one of the most unique, mindblowing and flat-out genius sets McChuills has ever seen, hence us going through the diary while he was still playing. So, once again alongside our comrades Manifesto of Bliss, we are bringing the great man back to the Acid Arch at the start of August.

There’s probably more tributes to The Doors kicking around than a lot of other classic bands have to them put together, but The Doors Rising are something special.

You might have seen tributes to The Doors before, but unless you somehow saw the real thing back in the day, this is as close as you’re ever going to get to it.

DF Concerts Presents: Little Grandad

DF Concerts Presents: Little Grandad

Formed in 2025, Little Grandad's songs sound like a sort of Venn diagram of rust-belt Americana, Brooklyn-informed slacker-rock, and warm yet ramshackle British indie guitar rock. It also sounds nothing like those things. It’s chaotic, teeters on the brink of collapse, but somehow hangs together. It’s properly exciting because you can’t put your finger on what it is, and neither can they.

All the tracks you’d want to hear are played live, nailing that unique sound without being too slavish that you might as well just play the records. It’s a fine line and Man Machine get it spot on.

The trio all chose to study at the same university where they plotted the plight of their new band together. Bassist George Green arrived when Fletchr Fletchr were already almost fully-formed, ushered on stage for a show merely days after joining.

DF Presents: Oscar Blue

Oscar Blue is an Irish singer-songwriter and storyteller who finds meaning in the mundane - the ordinary moments and small flashes of human connection that often say the most. A social care worker by day, his songwriting is shaped by the people and stories he encounters: resilience, loss, gratitude, loneliness and the quiet strength it takes to keep going. He turns that lived experience into cinematic folk storytelling, soaring rock soundscapes and songs that feel both deeply personal and built for the room.

DF Concerts Presents: Wilt

She came home with songs and no interest in making them quietly. She found Aaron Liebman, a multi-instrumentalist producer whose taste ran deep into emo, the kind of obsessive ear that hears a song once and starts rebuilding it.

Andrew Vance was another multi-instrumentalist guitarist with shoegaze instincts and a producer's feel for texture. Daniel Bermudez was the Valley kid raised on folk and the Smashing Pumpkins who played drums like he was trying to reconcile the two. None of them would have formed this band on their own — Rifkin's songs were the gravity that pulled them together.

Over the past decade he’s spent a lot of his DJ life selling his soul and doing it purely for cash, playing to crowds where people want to hear specific things, and giving them it in order to get paid. Funnily enough that led him to getting utterly scunnered with playing out, so his New Year’s resolution this year was to go all in on playing whatever the fvck he wants. It’s a lot more fun that way.
