McChuill’s Movie Club Is Go!
We’ve been planning this for fkn ages (years? Offt. ), but we’re finally getting our fingers oot and starting the McChuill’s Movie Club.
We’re busy with gigs, clubs and events most nights of the week, but for those random midweeks that there’s nothing happening in the back arch, why don’t we show some movies? Especially as you need to plan for living off Koka Noodles for the rest of the month if you go to an actual cinema these days.
So since we’re into October here (aka the most magickal time of the year ), what better to kick things off with George A. Romero’s seminal (and public domain. Ahem.) birth of the modern zombie film Night Of The Living Dead?
We’ll be showing as crackly a print as possible, with equally unpolished era-specific trailers before it for that proper Grindhouse vibe, tho sadly we won’t have anyone going round with a tray of ice creams and fags. Meh.
And if horror ain’t yr bag of severed heads, fear not, as we’re planning a regular program of all kinds of movies, documentaries, live concerts and more. But there’ll be lots of horror too, so just deal wi’ it.
Also…we’re keeping these nights as cheap as possible so everybody can hopefully afford a wee night at the pictures if they want, but if yr skint for any reason (and who isn’t these days?),but would like to come down, fire us a wee DM and we’ll stick yr name on the list. Anytime.
So get yrself in the Halloween spirit and come down the pub on the 29th for a proper classic. It’s gonna be class.
