VSS Vol. 14 | Jinx Lennon & The Shamrock Show Band

Jinx Lennon // The Shamrock Showband

Join us on Sunday 17th May as we celebrate  the feast day of St.Brendan the Navigator, the 6th century Irish monk.  Besides celebrating Easter on the back of a giant whale and dodging fiery rocks from volcanic islands, St. Brendy is primarily celebrated for the Navigatio Sancti Brendani, a legendary account of a seven-year voyage with a crew of monks in a leather-clad boat searching for the "Isle of the Blessed".  Instead he found North America a millennia before Columbus!

Jinx Lennon is a self-described "Border-Schizo-Punk-Folk" poet and singer from Dundalk, Ireland.  Known as the "Bard of Dundalk" Lennon's original style of spoken punk-hop has seen him share stages withThe Fall and The Mary Wallopers, with the latter collaborating together on new music on the BCC documentary series 'Cumasc: Seisiúin sa Black Gate'.

His live shows are known for their high-energy and satire, with a DIY community building presence.  This reflects the same explorative nature and chaos as St. Brendan's legendary tales and the spirit of the saint himself.
