Pretty much everyone who was here for DJ Pierres McChuill’s debut last January has been asking the same question: when is he coming back?
This is the man without whom electronic dance music would look very, very different. The man who took the Roland TB-303 and twisted it into something entirely new. It’s no exaggeration to say DJ Pierre changed the electronic dance world. A pioneer of not one but two genres — acid house and wildpitch — Pierre is a mentor to countless A-list DJs, old and new. His passion, vision, and influence have endured through every rise and dip of the scene. From the early days of Phuture — alongside fellow squelchers DJ Spank Spank and Herb — and their era-defining release Acid Trax, to his crossover smash The Horn Song with Barbara Tucker; from solo projects with David Morales and Felix Da Housecat, to his time as Head of A&R at Strictly Rhythm — DJ Pierre has always been a force to be reckoned with.
