“The best stage presence I've seen in a long time” - Discovery Music Scotland

The Rants are Fionn Lyons, Shay McDermott, Fraser Carstairs and Logan Murdoch. After only a short time, the band made their name known across the Glasgow scene, filling venues like King Tuts, Glasgow Art School, St Lukes and SWG3. Now leaving their local roots, they have been venturing across the country, both touring and playing festivals to share their sound to new ears, playing on stages alongside Old Mervs, Vistas and James as they go. 

Inspired by a mix of 90s acts such as Radiohead, and Goo Goo Doll as well as taking note from the sounds of fellow scottish bands like Biffy Clyro and Frightened Rabbit, the band have been described as “No pomp. No syrup. Just raw wires, bruised voices, the kind of electricity that doesn’t ask for permission”

With them having found a new blend that allows them to grow from their Scottish roots, they released their debut EP “Ode To A Broken Soul” in early 2025. The band are just getting started, and with more on the way soon, The Rants will only become a name more people know.
